NTU Scholarships for 2010 Summer Program on Biodiversity, Agriculture and Culture of Taiwan

18 April 2013

SEARCA is pleased to announce the availability of two partial slots of scholarships offered by the National Taiwan University (NTU) for Southeast Asian students to attend the 2010 Summer Program on Biodiversity, Agriculture, and Culture of Taiwan from June 28 to July 24, 2010. The scholarships valued at US$2,000 per slot will cover accommodation, two-thirds of meals, local travel expenses and insurance within Taiwan, books, course materials, T-shirt, bag and other souvenirs. The scholars will be selected on the basis of the following among other factors: potential and immediate impact of the learning from the program on the student's study program and career; and a background on biology.

The program is hosted by the College of Bioresources and Agriculture of NTU and will consist of course lectures delivered in English, visits to national parks and museums, cultural tours, exposure to the natural resource and biodiversity of flora and fauna of Taiwan, hands-on experiences with the bamboo and tea culture, as well as the Chinese calligraphy and language.

Deadline for submission of application to SEARCA is April 10, 2010. SEARCA will then submit its recommendations to NTU on or before April 20, 2010. Interested applicants may visit the website of SEARCA at  http://www.searca.org/ for the poster, schedule and application form. Filled-up application forms may be sent via email at gsd_at_agri.searca.org.
