CMU is one of the top performing schools nationwide in Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, Forestry Education, Agriculture Education, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Teacher Education. It is a Level IV state university, and per CHED assessment, a Center of Excellence (COE) for Agriculture, Forestry, Biology, and Veterinary Medicine education. It is also a Center of Development (COD) for Mathematics, Teacher Education, and Environmental Science. CMU was recognized as Level II Institutionally Accredited institution by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). Based on the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (Asia 2021), CMU was one of the Asia's higher education institutions with an overall 3-star institution rating. Currently, CMU is an ISO 9001:2015 certified by TÜV SÜD.

CMU has 10 colleges that offer various undergraduate and graduate degree programs namely, the Colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Sciences, Business and Management, Education, Engineering, Forestry, Human Ecology, Information Sciences and Computing, Nursing, and Veterinary Medicine.

Study Programs:

CMU offers 86-degree programs with 36 undergraduate and 45 graduate degree programs; and five non-degree programs.

Student Population:

About 16,000 students are enrolled in the university every semester.

Faculty Strength:

CMU has a total manpower of 890 permanent faculty and staff assigned to various units in the university.

Research Institute Complement:

CMU has seven research centers and hosts two government agencies inside its campus.
